7 Best Things to Do In Orlando (For Adults)

September 17, 2019

I guess you could say my family and I are fairly lucky to live nearly 2 hrs away from one of America’s top vacation spots, Orlando, Florida. I know many people think of and kids Disney World when they hear things to do in Orlando but there are so many other crazy fun things for adults to do.

My husband and I travel to Orlando, probably about twice a year for a fun weekend getaway.

So, I’ve compiled a list of the best things to do in Orlando for adults.

1. Theme Parks

I can’t even lie, even as adult rollercoasters and thrill rides are always a good idea. If you are planning a trip to Orlando, I would recommend a Park Hopper pass to Disney’s top parks; Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom & Hollywood Studios. Although Disney’s Magic Kingdom doesn’t have much to do for adults, the sights will make you feel like a kid again and trust me the nightly firework show will remind you to never stop dreaming.

2. iCon (Orlando Eye)

The Orlando Eye is located in the heart of International Drive and filled with restaurants, shops, and a lovely green grass area for kids to play and the adults to relax. They have this huge Ferris Wheel that plays music and is air-conditioned. The Ferris Wheel is absolutely the perfect thing to do for a romantic evening in Orlando.

3. Sea Life Aquarium

Visit the Aquarium, which is conveniently located in the center of iCon. The aquarium has so many species of fish to learn about!! My husband and I love nature and really enjoyed seeing the exhibits of different fish.

4. Take a Drive to Tampa- Busch Gardens

I love that Central Florida has a lot of fun things to do even on the West Coast. If you take an hour’s drive west, you’ll end up in Tampa, Florida. Which is where Busch Gardens is located and it has some of the greatest thrill roller coasters like the Shekra that has a 90-degree angle drop. COUNT ME IN!!

5. Universal City Walk

The one thing I love most about Orlando is it is not all about theme parks. You can definitely have a blast at Universal’s City Walk, which is right before the main entrance of Universal Studios. It’s a strip of deliciously crafted restaurants like Bubba Gump Shrimp and innovating shows like Blue Man Group. You can find bars, food, and fun! You know..if you’re into that kinda stuff.

6. Dinner Show

Honestly, going to a dinner show is one of the most creative and fun things to do while enjoying a fantastic meal. If you’re in the mood to a solve a murder mystery you can enjoy a great show like Sleuth’s Mystery Dinner or look for gold at the Pirates Dinner Adventure. All of these shows are a great time for an adult night out in Orlando.

7. Wonderworks

This place is so much fun! It’s an interactive museum that’s fun for all the senses. From the main street of International Drive, it looks like an upside-down house, and when you go inside you’re actually going down instead of up. The aesthetic is super dope and the play on senses will definitely have you and your friends entertained.

Now, that I think about it…I need to plan another trip! Are you planning a trip to Orlando? If so, tell me where you are planning on going?

My wife and I live out of state. We try to go to Orlando every other year minimum. We enjoy going to a lot of the places you listed. We also enjoy discovery cove a lot. You can get a 3 park package in addition to your discovery cove ticket that will get you 14 days unlimited access to seaworld, aquatica and busch gardens.

      Hi Alex!

Yes! There’s truly so many awesome things to do in Orlando. I have yet to been to Discovery Cove though and will be planning a trip there.
