Dear Dreamer,
In a short amount of time you’ll be embarking on the journey of your thirties and leaving the girl-ish things behind. This year is a little different than your 28th birthday, but similar in many ways. So here’s a letter to my twenty-year old self. These past 10 years have been very interesting to say the least. From the beginning to the end, so many moments that have defined you as a woman. One thing for sure, you’ll be forever grateful for the many transformations that will continue to occur in your life and the loved ones around you. When it’s all said and done, you’ll know that every step of the way it’s been a true reflection of God’s glory, grace, and His favor.
a letter to my twenty year old self
You are Stronger Than You Think
I know there will be times you feel that you aren’t strong enough to go on and you’ll even think of taking your own life but you aren’t weak. YOU ARE STRONG!! God doesn’t make mistakes and when you face trials, remember that He is with you. He gives power to the weak
Don’t Believe What They Say
When they begin to spew their lies and their rumors. Don’t believe them. Don’t for a second take ahold of the lies that dance around you. It’s not real and it’s only going to get you off the path God has been longing for you to see.
Keep on Dancing
Whatever you do, don’t stop dancing. Keep your feet moving, your head high and your heart free. You’ll find freedom in dancing. Hold the beat in your hand and move to the rhythm of your heart.
Keep Praying
He will never leave you nor forsake you. He will answer you.
Let It Go
For the things you can’t control. Let it go. It’s not worth holding onto. What’s meant to happen will happen and you will find God’s footing as he walks alongside you.
Stay True To Yourself & Don’t Compare
The one thing that you have that nobody else has is you. Your voice, your mind, your story, your vision. So write and draw, and build and play and dance. How God created and made you is incomparable. You are God’s handiwork and you were created on, with and for purpose. You can’t lose your authenticity. It’s too detrimental to those behind you.
Never lose your wonder.
Say Yes and be willing to bend a little.. Well alot! Don’t take yourself too seriously and don’t stop dreaming.
As I finish up this letter to my twenty year old self, last thing I want you to know is that I love you.
Take Care & With Love,
Your Thirty Year Old Self
