Turkey Taco Chili

April 29, 2020
turkey taco chili

Nothing beats a good home-cooked meal like a warm bowl of turkey taco chili. Mmm! This super easy twist on chili has been my go to within the last couple of months. With only 5 main ingredients, turkey taco chili is quick, easy and did I mention healthy. Of course, you have the option to add more to this simple recipe. Which is why i’ve also added it to my simple healthy pregnancy meals repertoire.

I’m plain Jane so I like my chili with only meat and beans, maybe I’ll venture out into a broader territory but for now this will do. But what I love about turkey taco chili is that you can add all of your favorite Mexican ingredients to spice it up, like roasted diced tomatoes, peppers and onions. All of these actually sound quite delicious actually!

Let’s jump into it.

Super Easy Turkey Taco Chili

I always use my favorite cast iron Dutch oven that is easy to cook and store in the fridge and reheat as needed. But if you don’t have a dutch oven, you can use a large pot. For this yummy turkey taco chili, I used ground turkey. I recently tried Morningstar’s Veggie Crumbles for a more vegan approach. Honestly, it tastes just as good and you wouldn’t even know you’re missing meat!

Normally, when making chili, you are to use the chili packet however for the sake of this turkey taco chili we are going to swap out chili for TACO! I like the mild because I feel it gives a little kick, but if you like spice then add the hot blend. If you can’t find hot, then add a little chili powder and/ or cayenne pepper and now you’re ready for a fiesta!!
