As our daughters get older, I am readily preparing them for homeschool. Before my husband and I decided to have kids, you could say I was already entertaining the thought. While weighing the pros and cons, I found the perfect 4 year old homeschool resources to help assist with letter and number recognition, writing and problem solving.
I’m a remote worker (Pre-Covid) and a corporate leader so our daughters are home with me during the day. Up to this point, our oldest has utilized learning apps and subscription kits like Homer, ABC Mouse and KiwiCo. Which is helping her tremendously with identifying shapes and numbers. I want to get her more hands-on and prepare for writing. Here are some amazing 4 year old homeschool resources I found from Amazon.

Self -Starter Home School Resources
First up, is a teacher designed workbook from Elitekids with grooved indentations in the workbook to help your little one find their flow with writing both numbers and letters. It comes in a pack of 4 reusable workbooks, 2 pens with a ton of inserts, and 2 pen grips. The ink dries and disappears pretty fast too. Our oldest loves drawing the pictures on the side of the workbook when her brain is in overload. This is a good addition to your homeschool resources for your 4 year old.
Next is a huge STEAM workbook that has over 1000 activities that is going to keep your little one busy. As I skimmed through the homeschool resources, I decided to buy a Kindergarten workbook to better prepare our 4 year old for harder lessons such as addition and subtraction, I love that the STEAM workbook comes with a page of stickers to award your 4 year old when they get an achievement. Wow, this is starting to sound a lot like real school! All jokes aside, I truly enjoy teaching our daughters and awarding them for each lesson learned.
Another resource that we stumbled upon was Learning Resources. Learning resources offers so many education toys that help engage the children to learn through play. They have worksheets, games and learning activities that will keep homeschool fun for your 4-year old.
The Teacher Your Family Needs
Due to the fact, that I am a remote working mama, our days look all over the place but one thing I make sure of is to set aside time for our lessons. Most times, she reminds me when it’s time to learn. She even leads me and lets me know when she’s ready for snack breaks. Not going to lie, the thought of homeschool gets a little overwhelming especially since I’m a working mom, but I told God (and myself) that I COULD DO THIS…OUR FAMILY COULD DO THIS!
I’ll share this word of encouragement. If you are beating yourself up for the choices you are making for your family, please stop! You are making the best choices that fit your family’s dynamic and lifestyle. Don’t doubt your capability! I think that I’m not doing enough or that our daughters aren’t learning enough. Trust me, they are! They are learning every day when they wake up and play. And remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day so don’t expect your little one to know how to spell in a day either. Mama, give you and your precious babies some grace and allow God to lead you. God entrusted you for this task for this very moment because He already gave you everything you need for this season. Not to mention, there is no body better built for the task to teach your babies. Trust God and Trust the God in you. I believe as I start this journey that God has some great surprises in store for me. That it’s not just about learning and academics but it’s about cultivating a healthy family and home environment for our children.
