Are you a Blogger, a Vlogger, an Entrepreneur? Did you answer yes? This
Influencer- someone who affects or changes the way the other people behave; a person or group that has the ability to influence the behaviors or opinions or others.
I first saw this book on @chassingdenise‘s Instagram story and after reading what she had to say about it I was game! I went searching on Amazon (which you can buy here for the better deal) but finally, I said screw it, I’m going to Target because um, I NEED this book and I can’t wait for shipping and handling! Yes! It was there and I got 20 percent off so yay me! I immediately started diving in, and… I ATE THIS BOOK UP.
Brittany Hennessy was a former Director of Influencer Strategy and Talent Partnerships at Hearst Magazines Digital Media where she casts celebrities and influencers for magazine and helps create campaigns for the world’s top fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands. She definitely knows the ins and outs of the industry. She is now monetizing and capitalizing on the Influencer book by hosting conferences and workshops in various cities. Brittney did an amazing job of informing aspiring influencers alike on the secrets of the industry and what it takes to get there.
In the book, she really breaks down the important keys, tricks, and tools needed to begin or continue your journey as an influencer, including website management, what is an influencer, how to ask for more money in your contracts, and even media kits. Seriously, she came for my life. I literally was highlighting everything! I was able to read and apply instantly. Being able to apply the information almost instantly was the key factor of the book because I really hate a book or a course that tells you everything wrong you are doing but doesn’t give any helpful tools. I’ve come across so many articles, e-courses and plain junk that could not stand up against this read because you weren’t left asking yourself, “what do I do now?” It’s like she gave you the answer key to the big math test. WIN!
I can really appreciate the featured insights and advice from top current influencers such as influencer Sazan Hendrix and Expert Tips from former and current Talent management from Hearst Barbara Meister which I thought was another great insight. I am grateful Brittney did not hold back and decided to let us in without fear of losing her secrets. In her book, she said it best and has experienced this industry first hand and has dealt with influencers so who else could deliver this kind of information.
She asked herself “Why not me?” and she’s encouraging us to do the same about our own careers in the influencer industry. Britney is one of the voices that encouraged me to start my first blog and begin the journey of infiltrating my sphere of influence, so I dedicate this first Book Review to you Britnnay.
