Chick & Pepperoni Crescent Ring
Chicken & Pepperoni Crescent RIng

An Italian inspired Crescent ring

A chicken & pepperoni crescent ring is a hard recipe to come by, especially if you have your sisters coming over in like 3.5 seconds and I normally like to make hamburger and cheese roll which I had planned. My husband had other plans; he absolutely LOVES Italian food and has been asking me to try this type of roll for a while. To be honest, I was a little intimidated because I had to create a dish out of nowhere and then present it to our family but I’m so glad my husband suggested it. Ok, breathe and let’s think this through. I searched for a recipe chicken and pepperoni crescent ring, and I could not find one for the life of me. I had to get creative and quickly throw something together and to everyone’s surprise, it came out DELICIOUS! So here we are

The yummiest Chicken & pepperoni crescent ring ever!

For this chicken and pepperoni crescent ring recipe, I had to think quickly and after a quick realization that “chunks” of chicken breast wasn’t going to cut it. At first, I thought “ah, it has to be shredded” in order for the texture to be right, so I grabbed a pot of water and set it to boil for about 10-15 minutes. I placed the two chicken breast in the boiling water. After cooked through, I placed chicken breasts in a large mixing bowl and began shredding with two forks. After I shredded the chicken, added shredded mozzarella and asiago cheese. Asiago is a must in our house, it’s a nutty-type cheese and like most cheeses, it’s best aged. I seasoned the chicken to taste with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning

Let’s roll into it…

I Preheated my oven to 375 (per crescent roll package) After, I placed parchment paper on a cookie sheet if you don’t have parchment paper you could use baking spray. Take your crescents and place them in a circle with the pointy tips towards the outer circle. I like to overlap the crescents and press down with my finger to ensure a solid base. First, I began placing pepperoni around the base of the ring. Then, I added the chicken and cheese mixture on top of pepperoni following the circle and don’t forget to add more pepperoni!!

After you have all the ingridents laid on the crescent, you will fold the pointy ends over towards the center. I like to pinch the sides of the crescents to ensure the mixture stays enclosed. You should have a middle filled with dough. I sprinkled a generous amount of parmesan cheese on the top of the ring. Off to the oven we went for about 7-9 minutes (based on crescent package)

Heat up Marinara on stovetop and set aside. Side note: You totally could place some sauce on the inside. There are no rules here.

Take roll out of oven and cut into sections, you can always cut smaller sections if you have more people. Place Marianara Sauce in a fancy bowl and BON APPETIT!! A family Friendly appetizer that will leave them wanting more!
