Since I was pregnant with our daughter Marley, I have been craving peanut butter cookies. And they say once you have a craving when you’re pregnant, it often sticks with you even after pregnancy. Peanut Butter cookies have been one that has.
I love how cute these came out. I think these peanut butter reindeer cookies are a great sensory cookie to make with your children. I even had fun putting the antlers and eyes in. You’ll definitely want to add this festive Christmas cookie to your holiday recipe book.
Cutest Peanut Butter Reindeer Cookies
Ingredients
½ cup creamy peanut butter
½ cup butter
½ cup sugar
½ cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 ⅓ cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
96 small pretzel twists
¼ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 Tablespoon red cinnamon candies (about 48 candies)
Directions
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Beat peanut butter, butter, sugar, and brown sugar in the mixer until light fluffy. Beat in egg. Stir in flour and baking powder.
For each cookie, shape 1- inch ball of dough into a triangle shape, about 1 ½ inches long. On an ungreased cookie sheet, place pretzel twists about 1 inch apart to look like antlers. Press the top of the dough triangle gently into pretzels. Repeat with remaining dough and pretzels.
Bake for 5 to 10 minutes or until the edges just begin to brown. Immediately press 2 chocolate chips for the eyes and 1 cinnamon candy for the nose onto each cookie. Let stand for 2 minutes; remove from cookies to wire rack. Cool completely, about 30 minutes. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
I’ll definitely continue to add these to our Christmas family tradition baking escapades. If you’re looking for more fun holiday baking treats check out these other fun recipes like Mexican Wedding Balls and Basic Rollout Cookie. Yum!
